Mark Archer named BBSEF Program Director, Head Coach

On behalf of the Bogus Basin Ski Education Board of Directors, it is a pleasure to announce that Mark Archer, aka “Speedy”, has accepted the position of BBSEF Program Director and Head Coach.

Coach Archer is a lifelong ski and snow sport enthusiast with wide-ranging experience in all aspects of U8 to U21 athlete development and performance. His passion for the sport has taken him from regional, national, and international competitions as a competitor to worldwide venues as a World Cup Service Technician and World Cup Service Program Director. Yet program development and coaching are where he thrives as reflected in the roster of athletes that he has successfully coached to Olympic, World Championship, NCAA National and Regional podiums.

He is the founder and owner of Speedy’s Ski Camps – yearly training programs held in Squaw Valley, Mt. Hood and Sweden. Coach Archer is a Level 300 USSA Certified coach and has worked with development programs throughout the US, most recently as the Men’s/Women’s Head Alpine Club Team Coach at St. Michael’s College in Vermont and previously as the Senior Program Director at Mount Snow Ski Academy also in Vermont.

As a former successful junior, FIS, Can-Am and professional athlete, Coach Archer possesses a personal connection to the highs and lows of competition and a commitment to developing athletes who are not only technically skilled, and tactically sound, but are unwavering in their approach to being physically and academically fit as well as being kind and caring individuals.

“My goal is to use my proven teaching and programming practices to champion BBSEF athletes to their best performance levels,” he said.
