The Snowbird U16 Qualifier, two slaloms and one giant slalom, could not take place because of an over abundance of snow.

Watch this space for further developments. Some of the qualifiers may still occur in combination with an upcoming event.

2021 Snowbasin SGs canceled

Hi All,
Due to the snow conditions/surface and the amount of snow falling in the SLC area, the U14 Snowbasin SGs are canceled.  Please pass this on to families so they can cancel lodging.  We are uncertain at this time whether or not we will be able to reschedule. The Snowbasin Ski Team will explore all options and if there is a possibility of inserting the SGs back in the schedule, we will let you know.

The COVID-19 committee will address selection procedures in the event that we don’t have SG contested this season.

Please thank your parents and athletes for their patience.  Seriously, if it’s not one thing  … it’s another.

2021 U16 Nationals canceled

A message from Chip Knight:

Dear Alpine Leaders,

Regrettably, I am writing to inform you that we have decided to cancel this year’s U16 Nationals.  There were many reasons behind this decision, chief among them were the challenges of creating a meaningful regional qualification system in the midst of so many different state-based COVID regulations, as well as the inequity of access to competition around the country.

Instead of the National competition event, we are planning regional skills projects during the month of April.  Please stay tuned for more information about those opportunities in the coming weeks.

Feel free to share this information to your distribution lists.

Thanks,
